On 30 October 2026, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that Once Upon a Farm is voluntarily recalling all lots of its Tractor Wheels Organic Toddler Soft-Baked Bars because of a choking risk.
What happened?
The recall covers all varieties, lot codes and expiry dates. The FDA received reports of toddlers with complete airway obstruction after eating the bars. According to the agency, when chewed the product forms a dry, sticky mass that standard choking interventions may fail to dislodge, and some incidents needed emergency help and hospital observation. The affected flavours are Apple, Sweet Potato & Spinach; Strawberry, Pumpkin & Beet; and Banana, Pumpkin & Cauliflower. The bars were sold online and in US stores including Costco, Target and Walmart.
What does it mean for parents?
The recall is in the US. If you bought these bars online or while travelling, don’t give them to your child. It’s also a good reminder that soft, sticky foods can be a risk for young children, not only hard ones.
What can you do?
- Check your pantry: if you have these bars, stop giving them to your child.
- Return them: the company says they can be returned to the store for a full refund.
- Don’t resell or give them away.
- Stay with your child while they eat and feed them seated and upright.
