The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced two baby product recalls in October, both sold online, including on Amazon. If you buy baby gear from international marketplaces, it is worth checking whether either one is in your home.
ONTHEWEI bath seats (model MY002)
On 8 October 2026, about 2,140 baby bath seats were recalled. According to the CPSC, they are unstable and can tip over during use, creating a drowning hazard. No incidents have been reported. The company offers a full refund.
Papablic bedside sleeper (model PAPA03001AI)
On 15 October 2026, about 248 convertible bedside sleepers, sold between April 2025 and July 2026, were recalled. The mattress can shift and create a gap where a baby could become trapped, posing a suffocation risk. The latch can also fail, causing the sleeper to collapse.
What you can do
- Check the model number – it is usually on a label underneath or on the side of the product.
- If it matches, stop using it straight away and contact the seller for a refund.
- Do not resell or give away a recalled product.
- Whatever the brand: never leave your baby alone in the bath, not even for a second. A bath seat is not a safety device.
